Our last meet at Nyora Raceway, Napier Photography caught up with Esther Thomson who steers the VX88 in the Wingless Sprint class.
I asked Esther (aka Polly) if she would allow me to do an in focus with her as Napier Photography like to promote women in motorsport.

Racing History for you & family:
Dad (Roger) and 2 uncles (Michael & Russell) have all raced since the 70’s, in A-Grade Hot Rods and Super Modifieds. I started in VSC junior standard saloons at 13years old, before moving up into the VSC V8 Super Modifieds at 17 along with my cousin (William). Once I finished University, the super modifieds were struggling for numbers and I wanted more, so I saved up, brought a wingless and started this journey! Now I’m 6 years into wingless racing and loving it more than ever.
What is your favourite track to race at and why and where would you like to race if money was no object?
Premier speedway in Warrnambool is somewhere I dreamed of racing on as a teenager, so it always feels bit surreal rolling out the gate there. But now that I live far away, going back home to race at Swan Hill is special, so much support, and so many memories at that place.

Tragic Loss of Gerry Hoekstra
Napier Photography is sending our heartfelt condolences to the Hoekstra family on the tragic loss of Gerry Hoekstra. Back in the 2017-2018 seasons, we got to capture some of the moments of Gerry racing at Bairnsdale, Rosedale and Nyora with the VSC Sprintcars. Always lovely to chat to and also loved to support us as well.
Once speedway family, always speedway family.
Sending our love to not only Gerry's family but to his navigator Ede Taric family as well.
